This is just a great original piece. Antique 19th Century wall maps are getting harder and harder to find these days.  Often you can find the more common county and state ones but the smaller more obscure ones seem to rarely ever come to market.  This seems to be one of the rarest I have come across in a while.  There was a folding map version of this map that I have found in a few institutions but I have not been able to find another example of this wall map version.  It was one of the reasons I was excited to purchase it.  I thought it was definitely one of those maps that needed to be preserved and would be great in any major collection or institution.  This is one of those smaller wall maps measuring 18 x 41 1/2 inches.  Still on its original linen.  Map even has most of the original selvage.  Overall, it is in good condition.  Consistent toning of the varnish but not too dark.  One small stain spot very upper left corner and a few other very small spots.  Typical wrinkling as is common with these maps.  Upper right quadrant shows a little bit more wrinkling and some paper loss and looseness but not too bad.  There is a small hole with about a dime size loss as well.  Some of the towns and words cant be read but overall it still displays very well and could be restored to make into a very fine example of this map.  Both original wood rails still attached with some detachment to the bottom rail.  Do your own research on this scarce Pennsylvania map.  A scarce view of the southeastern central area including parts of Luzerne, Dauphin, Schuylkill, Carbon, Columbia, and Berks counties.  FREE SHIPPING ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES
